Exploring the wonderful wilds of Malawi, Zambia – and now Zimbabwe
Robin Pope Safaris is delighted to announce an expansion of its operations into Zimbabwe and a new strategic partnership with a Zambezi Valley safari operator; Milo Harrup and Sarah Stevens of The Mana Pools Travel Company. Robin Pope Safaris will set up a new semi-permanent camp, John’s Camp in Mana Pools – named after renowned African safari guide, John Stevens (Sarah’s father).
The venerable John Stevens joined Zimbabwe National Parks over 50 years ago, and has worked in and around Mana Pools ever since. Robin Pope and John Stevens, pioneers of safari’s in Zambia and Zimbabwe, have set benchmarks in mobile-tented walking safaris and we believe this synergy will see an exciting new offering.
Mana Pools, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is situated in the heart of 12,000 square kms of the Zambezi Valley. The park is one of the most outstanding walking locations in Zimbabwe and among the last remaining wild-walking parks in Africa. A charming 10-bed, semi-permanent tented camp: John’s Camp enjoys stunning views across a flood plain towards the Zambezi River. The concept is simple but the experience is intimate, offering guests exceptional service, great game viewing and top-notch guides. John will be available to guide on request, for the ultimate in guiding know-how.
Ton de Rooy, MD of RPS, comments: ‘We are thrilled to add John’s Camp to Robin Pope Safaris. We believe we share the same values and vision and we look forward very much to growing the Robin Pope Safaris footprint in this special part of Africa.”
John’s Camp will be opening from 14th April until 30th November this year.
