Robin Pope Safaris has put together a new 8 day package with a focus on Responsible Tourism in the Luangwa Valley. Since the start of RPS works closely with community development, wildlife conservation and responsible tourism specialists to ensure a positive impact on the environment and the local communities.
In recognition of this commitment to responsible tourism, Robin Pope Safaris has won prestigious international awards including the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards Joint Overall Winner in 2011, making us the ultimate winner across all 13 award categories.
This Responsible Tourism Safari gives guests the chance to explore South Luangwa Valley with a twist towards community and conservation. Rates for the seven night package are from US$3844 per person sharing, with stays at Robin Pope Safaris’s Nkwali, Tena Tena and/or Nsefu Camps plus a night within an authentic Zambian village Kawaza.
As each RPS safari is unique in experience, one can tailor the trip to suit their specific interests and availability by choosing to add the following highlights:
- Overnight stay at Kawaza Village, an authentic Zambian village (this is already included but more nights can be added on request)
- Visit Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust – conservation education for local school children
- Visit South Luangwa Conservation Society (SLCS) – an insight into their conservation projects
- Zambian Carnivore Programme – presentation on their research work
- Tour of a local market and Tribal Textiles – shopping trip for local produce
- Insight into local culture, customs and more from your safari guide
- Local theatre group to perform a play at one of the camps
